He’s talking about moderators. Not game mods
No no I know, I meant mods as a short term for moderators, sorry, I probably wasn’t clear.
Still think that we should have bring this discussion above the 1000 replies, to get more attention.
So I will propose a new point for the discussion: what about the idea of the gold trickle for Portugues? It follows the idea of free resources of feitorias…
Thry have feitoria for that. And their trash isn’t terrible
I think Italians are fine on water for now, their FS discount has been nerfed now what 4th time now? I also don’t think they’re weak early on in land, it might be late game for all we know.
I don’t like this but I don’t have any better ideas either
2.2
too cheap
Exactly, instead of the extension of the gold bonus I was thinking of a mini feitoria. It is to follow the identity of the civ of free resources
Not a fan of the idsa at all, sorry.
Regarding the steppe larcer issue… well it is for sure needing for some love, but what it needs is probably a role in the game
That’s why I’d like to make it a raider like the scout line.
Yeah it costs gold but it would have a bonus vs villagers and siege and higher base damage.
The reason why balancing SL is difficult, is that the civs having it do not require a lot of attention. They are decent. So, buffing SL, will buff civs which do not need real buffs, especially Mongols.
I like the idea of removing the knight line, but this is very difficult to balance. Basically you loose the knights for a cheaper and faster ranged cavalry with an attack bonus vs vills.
This can work by properly tuning the stats of the SL and it is good for adding variety to the game. This requires however an imperial upgrade for cumans replacing the paladin role.
The balance issue is not too relevant in 1v1, it could work, but the problem may pop up in a very relevant way in TG. In TG pocket knights are very important because they are not too food intensive and are very good in low numbers. Not sure if this would be a too big nerf for SL civs.
Don’t think it’s a good idea, feritoria + any relics you can get is more than enough.
Yeah I too think they are fine on water, but on land they could use a small bonus for their military across the ages, the problem of cheap gunpowder is that usually comes in late.
Free armor for archers instead have the convenience of anticipate an upgrade that is usually delayed, while saving a bit of resources (but no too much) and work time of the blacksmith.
In my opinion, SL are fine, they already are great raiders, and cost less gold then a knight, for early castle age aggression they are good.
Their problem is that after that, you don’t see them a lot, because knights or hussars becomes more appealing, thanks to their higher stats or no-gold cost, but if you buff them too much, you risk to return back to the days when SL on stand ground patrol had an locust effect on every unit.
Maybe to be more appealing should receive a bit less bonus damage from pikes and camels.
I ask one more question. Do you think that indians are ok now? I see a lot of people complaining about them…
It is not just a matter of EA I guess
A lot of people don’t like the design because they think they should be an elephant civilization. The pfoblem is changing it woild require a complete redesign of the civilization from the ground up.
I think that as a civ they are fine, their stables are good, camels aren’t good raider as knights, but they can win the engagements with other cavalry, and they also have FU hussars and CA. The rest of their ranges and barracks are decent, so no complaints, only their siege isn’t great, but they have all they need.
Their eco too is good, their fishing bonus was directly nerfed, it also was indirectly buffed, by allowing vills deposit fish in the docks.
To me their only problem is that their UU do not have a role, so finding one for them is the best thing we can do for them.
aren’t?
Their siege is fine, BBC with SE and onagers, I’d say above average
I don’t think English is his first language.
I think its fine, prolly a typo
Which was my point. Just a typo or mishap due to not being his primary language. He’s from Italy. (Not trying to be mean or anything, just pointing out the probable cause, I wouldn’t want anyone to judge me based on my Italian)
Yes sorry, aren’t.
Yes yes, not special, not lacking.
It’s not, but in this case, it was the smartphone the auto correct fault.
Correct
