Hera is moving on

Yes , he is leaving the Aoe franchise , guys these things happens .

He maybe isn’t as passionate anymore , give him some time and maybe he will come back after some time .

As he says on the video , he is leaving because the Aoe2 isn’t competitive enough and because Aoe4 has A LOT of balance problems and it’s obviously not the best for a competitive streamer .

Although I think he will not come back anytime soon to aoe4 , maybe he will for aoe2 , Just give him some time

Did u guys even listen to what he said? He’s not leaving either game. He’s going to be doing LoL for his daily stream content because he doesn’t enjoy the 1v1 ladder in AoE2 or AoE4 due to not enough top tier players playing in his time zone. Basically, he wants to have 50-ish opponents close to his level that he plays on a regular basis through the ladder. Hera is a top 5 AoE player and way better than the #50 player in both games. There’s also the time zone issue of top players being spread around the globe and playing at different times. He’d need to schedule custom games or coordinate play times with a group of top players to get the daily competition he wants.

That doesn’t mean AoE4 is a bad game. I think every patch is moving it in the right direction. Hera is going to continue to participate in tournaments for both games. He really enjoys AoE2 tournaments. He is probably going to play in AoE4 Golden League just due to the prize pool, but that will be after Spring Update and I suspect he’ll enjoy it.

The biggest issue with AoE4 has been the dev team’s communication. They didn’t announce at release that it was really an early release. They didn’t do a good job of publicly acknowledging bugs and issues (let’s be honest, their “known issues” page is still a joke). The game has only been out 4 months and has received monthly patches that have substantially improved things. It’s not actually an awful response. It’s just not been ideal communication. If they had presented it as an early release to help them get a jump start on balance and bug fixing, with the expectation it would take another 6-9 months to roll out all the planned features, it would have gone a lot better.

People today overlook the issues the other AoE games faced at release. Heck, AoE2 had a tech that literally did nothing whatsoever until the Forgotten Empires team fixed it in a community-made patch a decade later. AoE2 today is what it is because the community fixed the game. AoE4 is rolling out community tools in Spring Update.

I think the real reason being he lost the Winnerstayson to a guy who towerrushing him at least 4 times.
He was practising for N4C then after he lost Winnerstayson, he just gave up.

Can’t believe such a guy with a excellent multitasking skill, excellent strategy and macro skill, going to play a dumb idiot childish crap called LOL that ONLY NEED TO MICRO ONE UNIT. A Heresy to the Real Time Strategy genre, such a waste.

I’ll never forget he said he’s gonna join the tournament for an easy 30k then went and got his ■■■ beat 2-0 then had a meltdown on Twitter saying games trash and he hates it then a few days later saying he wishes the game was never released because it gave him so much mental anguish.

My man got hit by a reality check and it’s funny as hell.

Everyone is allowed to change their minds even if it makes them look…

Once the game mechanics improve and the meta is a bit stable I think he’ll rejoin low key… not try to yolo a tourny?

I’m glad he isn’t sugarcoating it anymore. Fanboys don’t like it but it has to be said

That’s the GIGACHAD take I was hoping for.

Before I actually thought it is sad that he left AOE.

But after this I’m happy he lost in the tournament and that he is not longer a part of the community. Indeed I would feel angry when he gets money from the tournament.

It will be interesting to see how he thinks about lol when he plays against the best players of them. Maybe he then also hates lol.

We should never celebrate the loss of a content creator, especially for a game that is in desperate need for more content creators.

This is a sad day.

Hera the drama queen of aoeIV

Hera has always had some PR problems. He’s not a bad guy at all, but he is a little impulsive and sometimes doesn’t think it through before he talks. He could have said the exact same things about Aoe4 in a polite manner that would have rubbed nobody the wrong way.

MBL also speaks his mind in a very similar fashion. The difference is that he owns it and doesn’t care about building a chill public profile so nobody minds, his honestly can actually be refreshing at times. Hera however strives for the chill and friendly stream so when he “slips” it can be jarring…

I hope he can get it under control because young he may be, but he’s no longer a teenager.
