Riiiiiiiiiight. Sure.
you get more range and LOS, correct thats the elevation advantage and not damage, IMO is awesome and better.
The Wall tooltip said you get +2 range and a lot of pierce armor on the wall.
I have to play again AGE4 , so I can be sure of this
Iron Harvest? Company of Heroes?
Nah, Iām fine with it as it is. Would make maps with hills too restrictive in design due to hills being abusable.
Just the LOS, I believe range is only for units on walls.
Untill i come whit a sige tower full of swordmen.
āElevation gives you +2 Range and additional LOS. Conversely, if youāre on the lower ground, you get less LOS. Finally, I heard that Cavs cannot charge uphill.ā
Im not sure about it , but maybe you are righ.During the gameplay , I didnt see any bonus on high ground maps
nope , elevations also gives you the range i think
Elevation should either slow down the movement of all infantry uphill, or maintain their normal speed uphill but exert a toll on their health stats.
It doesnāt make sense for them to have that cavalry cannot charge uphill, but to have that infantry are not affected in any manner.
Damn, why donāt the developers answer the communityās questions? Letās ask him.
Lol age4 is clearly not made for e-sport, it lacks a ton of standard features of competitive games especially concerning control group management. Also hill bonus is a feature that has a HUGE impact on pro games in age2 an forces strategic placement of castles but also good unit micro to benefit it, so saying no uphill bonus = e-sport is flat out wrong. In fact I am FOR uphill bonus as I think it benefits competitive play.
I mean just the fact that we STILL donāt know what elevation does it bad⦠11 Seriously, there needs to be a wiki or something for players to be able to read up on this stuff
Only one problem. To make a wiki, the players first need to know stuff.
Itās confirmed
High ground in natural hills give ranged more LOS,
On wall ranged units give more range.
yeah because strategy game esports is not in strategy gamesā¦
and thats enough of a realistic bonus I think.
Why would swords do less damage uphill? its not like they are used in narrow stairways.
Also the maps were designed with only these bonuses in mind. If they start addung more, they will have to recheck all and probably balance many maps.
yeah agreed natural terrain gives more sight cna see distance, since walls are more organized and well constructed archers get more range, but walls can never reach heights of a natural hill most time.
I feel this is good
Walls reduce 66% of incoming projectile damages for units standing up on it, and also ranged units gains 2 bonus range.
Chinese can also give 50% dmg boost around the Gate of the Great Wall (Landmark age IV).
