FINALLY figured out a solution. Cause: The Event Challenge installs the Winter Wonderland mod. The garbage error message “Host Rejected” doesn’t actually describe the actual problem: Incompatible mods between the host and clients. Solution: Tools > Mods > uncheck Winter Wonderland
