Hot take on the 3K DLC

We all know that people is unhappy with the DLC regariding 3k kingodms inclusion due to Historical reasons and Heroes (which I agree), but what I ve found worse is how you include two proper medieval civs (let’s ignore the Khitans issues for a moment) together with the 3K civs that have a wide distinction in the timeframe and have nothing to do with the 3k (I mean, I can’t find anything in regards on how these civs interacted with the three kingdoms), is like launching a Balkans themed expansion but adding additional african civs there, zero coherence and ruins the theme of the expansion. Another thing, ZERO art cutscenes and Hero units for Jurchens and Khitans, let alone how these two civs just re-use existing voices…

So IMHO both Jurchens and Khitans should be excluded completely from the 3k DLC and launch it with their proper campaigns and Heros (+ Campaigns for the proper Chinese, Japanese, and Koreans), but since is late to do that…

What about making Jurchens and Khitans part of the base game (so free for everyone), make in the future a campaign exclusive DLC with 5 campaigns for Jurchens, Khitans, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, then make the 3K DLC cheaper. Still respects the proper 5 civs stated for MP, and if anything It would make 3K more appealing and would sell more than ever for people who is interested on that, also it would allow to adjust the Jurchens and Khitans voices as well.

When they added Lords of the West and others to the base game, they made the game more expensive

But that is because a whole pack of 7 civs and 9 campaigns were added, compare that to just 2 civs and no campaigns

I upvote for the principe, not because I necessarily agree.

In my opinion, this can be fixed in the following manner:

  1. Move the 3 kingdoms and their respective civs into the chronicles.
  2. Add a cheap (10-15 USD) DLC that adds Tanguts, and campaigns for Tanguts, Jurchens, Khitans, and Chinese.

And then add an east asian DLC with campaigns for Japanese, Koreans, as well as a new civ (Tibetans or something) along with a campaign for that new civ.

100% agree. They are rejecting my money at least by bundling civs I want to try with civs I absolutely hate.

I don’t want Jurchens and Khitans for free. I want the three kingdoms civs OUT.

I don’t think this is a hot take at all, and I completely agree. Also lets me have Khitans & Jurchens, which I want, while not having to pollute my game with the 3k mess.
