Hotkey Bindings, uses etc Tutorial Video

*edit
Switched the attack ground function to tab, which will make things smoother/quicker in timely fashion, as well as moved select all-buildings such as castle, stable, barracks, siege workshop, dock to the F10-F5 areas - switched unit creation to the mouse 1 and 2 hotkeys, while the spam units, (villagers, halbs, skirms, scouts, unique castle units) added to the down and up mouse wheel functions for rapid queue times with lots of buildings being extremely quick for reaching full queues.

Your hotkeys appear to be ungodly inefficient. Maybe it’s just because of my setup, but if you ever need to reposition a hand, you’re doing something wrong. I can understand if you use control groups past 5, but even then, that shouldn’t be needed a lot of the time.

Damn I thought you were younger lol.

Yeah, the voice really threw me as well. Not at all what I’d expected.

most of the time I use groups 1-5 for army in general - and 6-0 for military buildings which I manually bind based on the need at the time of importance ranging from most important being 0, which is normally the castles, closely followed by 9.

As for qwertyuiop, I only use that in specialized situations, such as mass attack ground or mass conversions or just trapping the enemy archers with scouts and mass hitting different parts of the archers with individual bombard canons quickly.

normally my hand stays in the shift/ctrl zxcv and asdf zone for the more consistently needed hotkeys - as for the numpad hotkeys those tend to be strictly one time use for the mill/mining/lumber camps - the only ones I tend to return to often enough are the blacksmith and university which are also in the numpad area, but those also tend to be over and done with fairly shortly - the only one that stays is the market and trade cart hotkeys in that area which are specialized uses so it’s not visited often and normally for a short time.

Even quick walling and repairs/heals etc require my hand move not from the comfortable zone of zxcvasdf - as it needs only that and the mouse extra buttons.
and as my hand is already in that zone, it is well and near the very much needed ctrl and shift functions.

4.15 Formations, attack ground and select buildings all on the other side of the keyboard 11.

“the more specialized the easier it will be to remember”, the hard part of laying out hotkeys is making them efficient, remembering where they are is the easy part.

14.15 How is this an efficient/cost effective way of protecting your farms? 11

Stone walling your houses… protected with bbt… news flash houses are walls. And yeah definitely invest massively into stone walls but still keep your entire base open.

Go to tc not mapped. I assume you group it but why even. Can’t switch between tcs…

45.25 Great tip “don’t sell the wood.”

Thanks to your video we will now all be mechanical and strategical geniusses with +420 elo.

Refer to the comment above yours for further information.

Don’t sell the Wood? Seriously? That is such a stupid thing to say honestly. If you’re playing properly, the food should be poured into Hussars, and spam them everywhere, and the wood is the one you sell first usually. Really wish you played the meta, your strat annoys me a lot, mostly because of how bad it is to my eyes, and the fact that you keep spreading it as an actually viable thing, when it’s certainly not.

Highly valuable information, totally adresses every point.

You literally only answered the first point.

to be frank, it pre-answers the only point that was actually making any inkling of sense. the rest is just his personal opinion and much of it nonsense with little thought behind it, which I view as entirely wrong.

and I’m talking about late game - yes, you sell wood while it’s above 17 cost. - after that it should be poured into farms and any buildings you need as well as saved for wood costing units. which means stockpiling, especially for late-game.

his opinion screams of end the game in feudal age or early castle age and does not have any grip on the reality of my play style or other defensive minded playstyles.

What is this nonsense?

I mean, at 1000 elo maybe? But you can do whatever at that elo and win, this is not useful advice at all.

it’s called a different school of thought. one that you certainly haven’t taken into account.

No, because if I were a new player I would want to improve, thus break out of the 1000 elo bracket.

I’ve been to 1200 elo before, and I know I can do better.

Do you think your advice can bring you to 1400? 1600? 1800?

and to do better you should listen to the advice of people who have BEEN THERE and DONE that, not just DISCARD it and think you know better then everyone else.

absolutely - 1400 for sure, 1600 with calm and consistent practice and improved game knowledge and perception. 1800 with dedication. and pro level with pure dedication.

I will follow the school of thought I have chosen, which is different than others that have been up there via the aggression school of thought. Mine is somewhere around defense and possibilities of aggression based on the moment at hand while keeping the defense at the same level or just a bit higher than the aggression at hand while keeping costs lower than what the aggressive player spends. the methods that are used will be different, and disgusting to the pure aggression school of thought. which is expected, but that doesn’t mean that it’s wrong or right.

neither will be better than the other, this is my tool, and I will continue to learn it regardless of if any others choose to attempt it. and with so many aggression style players, this is the perfect opportunity to attempt to perfect the defensive style I use, and even utilize separate styles that fit the mold while wielding it.
What I wish for is for another to build upon it and improve it further than I can alone.
as for my hotkeys, they are doing wonders for me. and with mindful knowing of what they do and when you actually use them, they won’t steer you the wrong way, even if you’re from the aggressive school of thought.
