How do you beat Ottoman mass bombard late game?

I’m not here to say that Ottoman is broken or anything like that, I find them a middle tier civ.

But, I play a lot of FFAs, and in lategame imperial when there’s only few players left, and we’re all at 250 pop,

how do u beat the mass bombards? One recent game i played Byzantine, and got wiped. other one i did French and went caslte age 4 landmark (so i didn’t have culverins) and got wiped, even though i made 12 springalds, the ottoman cannons just blast them through and can tank the springald shots.

the only time i’ve had success was I played HRE back to back, and made culverins and was able to wipe the ottoman.

with that said, how can a spingald civ that doesnt have access to culverin beat ottoman ??!!
also, why doesn’t French have culverins ?? I mean France and Spain were ahead of the cannongame just as were the Italian city estates (there was no Italy during middle ages) and the “German” states???

The in-game description states French 840-1559 CE.

I mean cannons had already been out since 200 years prior (usually stationary), and by 1559 they already had mobilized cannons, as were the early stages of loading cannons on ships (France was ahead actually in this, more so than Spain and England at first), and during the Italian wars EVERYBODY had cannons, ESPECIALLY the small ones (aka, culverins / anti infantry (pike and shot) artillery). source: i was a history professor for 5 years.

But that aside, with the current state of the game, any good tips to beat mass ottoman bombard?? i just cant get past it

U nerf them them increase the population cap on them

You can’t.
Civ is faildesigned.

Upgrade “Roller Shutter Triggers” and “Greased Axles” as soon as you age up, go mass springalds. When engaging, pay full attention to operating them, target fire one bombard, and get out of the bombard’s range once the bolts are out. Spingalds with roller shutter trigger upgrade have a 12-tile range while Ottoman’s great bombards only have 11. With the two upgrades, kiting is applicable.

Just walk mass maa into them in stagger form. I just print Delhi maa and a-move them all the way from the barrack to the enemy landmarks. Brief pause to hit forced march and then back to printing. Maa, zeal, honed blades, ToV, all that good sh*t.
