Better building placement but you can modify some bits:
Using houses to wall up the upper part is ok, but you would rather wall with them close to your base since they are costier to remake than a wall. The academy you can place next to the temple to further cover the gold mine. If you added a wall or some houses you would form a barrier of sorts between your opponent nd your gold and shrine.
Just like you did here. Try also not to delete foundations since you loose resources depending on how far on construction they were.
