How much $$$ is worth in investing in a gaming system ?

How much Money is worth in investing in a gaming system ? Lifetime expectancy 3 years

Only 3 years? I’m guessing you base that on the frequency pace of new systems coming out?

I’d spend up to about $400-450 for something new. But, I’m not the type of guy who feels the need to invest in a system as soon as it comes out, and I play them way longer than the 3 year span. Heck, I use my old 360 way more than the PS4 I bought last year… which was a regrettable decision because I played it for about a month or 2 and have hardly touched it since  I only bought that bc I happen to be a HUGE fan of Elder Scrolls and ppl I knew were on there playing the Online version. Well not entirely true… I was either gonna buy that or the xbox one, but that factor influenced my decision greatly. In hindsight I probably shoulda got the xbox one, bc I think I would’ve played it more and gotten my $$$ worth out of it.
So, I think the real answer to your question is that you need to heavily consider what you are going to use it for, how often are you likely to use it, and do those answers equal out to be worth however much you are thinking of investing into it…

Wow. Thanks.

currently saw the recommended system and worked on PC build I have to make a budget 2300 to 2560 US Dollars. :frowning: :’( :expressionless:

YIKES!!!

You could easily spend $5k on a new rig, more even. It depends what you want to use it for, if you’re looking for 60fps @1080p for most current titles then $600-800 should be reasonable. If you want to future-proof a little more then $800-1000.

Indeed, around $800 and you’ll be fine for 4-5 years.

After those 4-5 years you can replace old parts with newer ones and sell the old ones.

Also thanks for all who replied

yep went for 7th generation CPU 7700K with liquid cooling and 32 GB DDR4 RAM (2x16GB Slot only could upgrade to 64 GB later) / Hard Drive Samsung EVO 500 GB SSD / /Seagate 2TB 6 (GB/s) / Asus Blu Ray Writer / Corsair 550D ATX Cabinet / Corsair RM750x SMPS / H115 Liquid Cooler.

Cost in Rs
I7 - 7700K = 25600 INR
Asus RoG Maximus 9 Formula = 31000 INR
Corsair 3000 Mhz 16 GB x 2 = 17000 INR
SamSung 500 GB EVO M2 SSD = 13500 INR
Seagate 2 TB (6GB/s)= 5400 INR
Asus Blu Ray Writer = 5600 INR
Corsair Cabinet 550D = 9300 INR
COrsair SMPS RM750X = 9500 INR
Corsair H115 Liquid Cooler = 9600 INR

Finally the Biggest Expense
Asus 1080 TI FE = 61000 INR

Logitech G402 Mouse = 2300 INR
Red Dragon Asura Keyboard Red = 1900 INR

Still have to buy Monitor / Speakers
In India there is a dumb law that requires pay 100% penalty for 2 lakh(200,000 Rs) above cash transaction so will buy them next month.

So far expenses are 1,86,000 INR Approximately 2890 USD
Except for Asus BluRay writer(1year) all products carry 3 years warranty

Ouch dude

For playing new big budget games on PC at 1080p 60 FPS for the foreseeable future you only need an Intel i5 or AMD equivalent, GTX 1060 or AMD equivalent and 8GB memory. Anything above that is overkill and provides dimishing performance returns for money invested.

Well that’s good for me at moment but will it pump AOE DE out if I buy a 4K monitor. ANy info greatly appreciated Thanks @rhrmn  p.s. I live uk but have family in CALI USA

Dawn of War 3 is lot better on this.
