I have been really enjoying playing Ayyubids. A more aggressive Abbasids is perfect for a long term Abbasids player like myself!
However the very dominant strategy of going camel wing into growth wing feels very overtuned while all other options seem a little lackluster.
I am concerned that after the dominant strategy is nerfed, Ayyubids will be left in the dust to struggle until the next major patch.
Ayyubids are really fun to play (love the versatility of Desert Raiders) but having more then one strategy would be amazing! The best civs are always those with multiple options available to them (Dehli also needs some love in this department but that is for another day).
Please note below how you think the other wings should be changed for more interesting and varied strategies.
I expect only growth wing will be nerfed so either people will still use it despite it being less villagers or most likely people will change to logistics and instead get 3 dervishes and just go out and grab the relics instead, if you get 3 that is still 6 villagers worth of gold and you’re denying it to the opponent so it isn’t much worse than the villagers though the immediate eco benefit will be delayed.
The thing with ayyubids is that abbasid already fills the role of the heavily eco focused civ so they are kind of pushed towards being a FC civ, why would you try and tc boom with ayyubids when abbasid has cheaoer villagers and stronger golden age?
Most wings are strong, viable or circumstantial in Feudal and Castles. It’s not that the other wings are weak (except maybe the trade wing) so, if anything were nerfed, they wouldn’t have to compensate much.
They need to buff the gamba wing, yes it use to be too strong but now its useless, utterly.
They should make the trader and military option exceptionally rewarding given the randomness and risk factors. The food and wood options should be slightly better rates such that it offers something slightly better than gathering those resources with current age resource upgrades.
Better idea!!! The trader and military options NEEDS to be combined!!! Instead of 2 traders you get 1 trader one military unit. Since there are 2 types of special military units have the 2 types each come with a trader.
No…add the trader plus military units as an additional option. And make the military unit that spawns random.
