I Keep accidentally deleting my army due to right clicking on the big red x button on bottom left of screen

Good Morning Readers,

I have been struggling to cope with accidentally deleting my armies since the beta week. There is a red x at the bottom left side of the screen in the grid box thing that when clicked deletes your selected units. Ok? Sounds normal so far… However, this button is causing a lot of players problems with deleting their army. When you right click that button it deletes whatever units you have instantly. When you left click it does the same. When you just press the right click in and not release, instant army delete, when you just left click and hold it instantly deletes. This is a simple fix. Disable right click on the delete button and or make it a press and release trigger not just press to trigger. Simple fix. Hope to see it fixed come wednesday.

The standard approach in games is that you need to press and hold on the button for a while before the delete happens. Same goes for the delete hotkey. It was like this in Age of Empires 4 too.

That said, in a game against AI, I wanted to delete an army to make room to create specific units to test something with. It showed me a pop up asking me if I was sure about deleting 24 units. Maybe it only shows up for large numbers. Still, deleting even a single building or unit should not be immediate.

How do you remove the S button that deletes buildings while they are being built?

That would be the “Cancel Foundation” hotkey.
