AoE 2 was the first game I ever played, but I’m itching to discover the first age of empires because I love its civilizations, I always thought that back when those empires existed was the best era of humanity, that’s why I want to discover them.
I’m with you on that - I enjoyed both the first and second games, but the time period and civilizations of the first one always intrigued me more. Starting in the stone age really gave the feeling that I was building an empire from the ground up
