I think this is the real Napoleon Gun in history

Infact the Napoleon Gun is a kind of field gun in history, just like falconet in this game, but more advanced.

But in this game, the devs have made them as absurd advanced leather cannon, which is a kind of ‘cannon’ just like a big skirmisher

So I think real Napoleon Gun in history should like this, and this will make them will no longer dumb in the game

I don’t get what’s the problem here?

Field Guns are infantry guns. Foot Artillery and all that.

I mean the leather cannon

In history, they should like the field gun in this game, but in this game, they like the leather cannon

Are you complaining that the infantry gun is an infantry gun?

No,I think this should like the field gun,not like the leather gun.

The leather gun is just like a big skirmisher, not like a cannon.

So I think the napoleon gun should like this

Just like the falconet, but more advanced

Mechanically speaking, a leather cannon is most like a cannon. It’s anti-infantry instead of anti-heavy infantry and light cavalry. It’s also countered by culvs and other anti artillery units. As a cannon, it does kinda replace the Skirmisher for Sweden, but that doesn’t make it a Skirmisher.

But they only have 23 range, and don’t have a 2X bonus against the buildings

The bonuses and range aren’t really important to what the unit is. It’s a light, maneuverable artillery unit which only kinda replaces a Skirmisher. They don’t counter light cavalry, and are countered by things which counter artillery. They get upgraded by artillery upgrades in the Arsenal as well.

Edit: btw, a lot of different cannons have different bonuses.

I think this was already pointed out in this forum. Napoleon gun is a 12-pounder canon-obusier.

Age 4 Field gun is also a 12-pounder gun (maybe lower).
Heavy canon is a siege gun (32- or 24-pounder), whereas horse artillery is probably a 6-pounder gun.

Yes that makes no sense.

But this will never be changed, so why bother ?

Falconet should be the “small gun” while Napoleon gun the mercenary field gun

A better name for the standard artillery would be saker-field gun.
And the horse gun should have lower damage (maybe higher bonus) and shorter range
