Until now all the pantheons have at least a flying unit. But now the Aztec have no one. Please add at least one flying unit by pantheon.
It seems like a design choice. They could have made Owl flying MU but they didnât. Greeks didnât have attacking flying MU till Harpies either.
I think they either hadnât got the time to implement a landing animation for the Owl or they took Boitâs videos in which he says he does not want any other flying myth unit too literally.
Either way, I donât like some of their myth units.
I feel like they are already planning a God Pack for the Aztecs. Xipe Totec is not even a minor god despite being important to the Aztecs.
So maybe they will get some flying myth units in the future.
I think the Owl should have some flying ability, like the Qiongqi, for example. At the Mythic Age, Iâm sure it would be much less obnoxious than, lets say, Qinglong raids, etc.
If not a form of flying, perhaps it should have an aoe attack, since it is such a large unit anyway. When they certainly nerf Volcano in the near future, I think the Owl should get a buff to compensate.
The Greeks didnât have flying units for more than 20+ years, the Aztec will be fine without flying units. I even think flying MU should not be the standard. In the OG only the Egy had flying Age 4 - Phoenixes. Aty then got one in Age 3. Why were the Chinese given so many flying units is beyond me but i really disagree with the philosophy of every pantheon of having many flying units. Its Alright to have Pantheons with no flying units.
Not everyone needs a flyer. That said it is odd the that owl doesnât fly
Thereâs a bat creature as well that could be used. The aztecs had an equivalent to the mayan Camazotz
don you know what is their name?
I said from the very beginning that we need to add a giant bat. Tlacazinacantli.
In the Return of The Gods mod for the OG game had the Obsideon Butterfly as a flying unit and had XiuhcĆÄtl (Fire Serpant) as a flying unit as well which didnât return compared to the rest of the myth units featured in the mod. (FYI the dev for the mod was hired by the dev team for AOM as they were impressed by their work and they played a part on working on the Aztec Pantheon for AOMR and many aspects where brought over from the mod)
I have seen this info repeated multiple times, but ROTG had multiple team members. Who is hired, whatâs their user name?
I prefer Obsidian Butterfly as it is now. Compare to that mod sheâs more interesting. Otherwise sheâs just another flying, shooting unit.
The poor owl got broken wings, he just walks, doesnât even float on the ground like the butterfly lol.
How about this:
The owl gains the ability to fly, but has to land if it wants to attack. In âflight modeâ, it canât do anything, but it flies very fast (it could even be the fastest flying MU when in flight mode).
It would be similar to the Roc (which also can land on the ground).
I do like Owlâs walking animation, but I agree it should also have a flight mode like the Qiongji and the Roc in order to make it a real 4th age myth unit with a distinctive role compared to the other 2 MUs which are just better.
It hasnât to be very fast in flight mode though, otherwise it would be too good I guess.
When I say a flying unit this is no necessary a combat unit can be a scout healer of transport unit.
yeah i wish too
the ground movement looks authentic and good and the stomp attack cool but the special⊠idk which also either as special or via upgrade it would fly at least even i hoped it would be like the quionyqi.
my idea was that instead of brathing fire like phoenix, throwing feathers like stymp or throwing shades like Onmo the Tunkuluchu would have a cloud of dust (either hot ash or decay) behind it so you have to constantly move it to get the best effect and use in battle. i think this would made an intersting flying myth unit but maybe too much for competitve/multiplayer. but the âstar of deathâ would defnitely work in flying too but maybe you guys are right and if it flies it should be âjustâ a support/scout unit. (?) idk but even vulcano is AWESOME the owl feels underwhelming despute its cool design.
btw a predator like an owl relies heavily on flying (like most birds) would be different story if it would be a bird or bird like monster who actually relies on walking to hunt.
Itâs too tanky to be a pure flyer with a ranged attack, but the laser attack from its eyes is cool, not gonna lie.
But yeah, as a Mythic Age Qiongqi sort of with a melee attack would actually work well.
