I want to remind the devs and Microsoft

I wouldn’t say there won’t be any more updates, but after how it turned to be update after update since I bought the game, I don’t think the hypothetical updates are going to be relevant, compared to those for the sequels, which means:

  • No DLC(s) -new units, civilizations, songs, etc.
  • No fixes to serious issues years old
  • No new important gameplay features

…And so on. I think updates (if they are going to happen anyway) will focus solely on small bugs trying to be fixed, maybe small quality of life additions, and performance improvements.

I hope to be wrong.

Well… the game somehow achieved its balance, but we need content

You also have to see - there’s so much to do in the other games:
Now there was an update for AoE3 and last week for AoE2 (and everyone was really screaming for it). And because this update seemed to have bugs, there was another patch today.
There is simply no time for the sickly dad.

Hopefully they start working on it at some point, I get that the new AOE4 and AOE2 due to the popularity are on the main focus but I’d really love to see the original game get some love too.

A great idea is the Mausoleum of Qin Shi Haung. While it post dates the Shang Dynasty it is still within the AOE 1 timeframe
