I think Dev will not to create the Chinese historical battle, mostly because of political factors. aoe4 also did not have more historical battles about China, although Microsoft attached great importance to the Chinese market. The Chinese government has always been concerned about foreign incorrect or biased perceptions of China’s history and reality. China is an important market for Microsoft’s business. Microsoft obviously will not touch these sensitive issues, so it simply does not do so.
There’s plenty of campaigns that the CCP would probably endorse. The conquest of the Dzungars, Tibetans, and Taiwanese play into their narrative. So does the defense of Korea.
They probably would be strongly against the ##### wars, Ming/Qing regime change, or many rebellions being portrayed as campaigns.
