I would like to have access to champion and free champion upgrade instead of Bagains.

Bagains 2HS beats Champions, though. They even beat Japanese Champions.

Yeah but free tech upgrade and immediately avaible by reaching imp. And champion are more solid against Archer range units and castle.

The point of them is that they beat Champions, not that they are just another Champion, but with free full unit line upgrades.

I actually prefer that some civs go around just having the exact same unit that most civs have, and have compensatory UTs instead.

With Hussar, Konnick and Elite Skirmisher with Bracer, Archers should not give you trouble anyway.

Sure itā€™s a buff for Bulgarian but donā€™t think itā€™s too much at least because Long Swords are not the best unit at the moment.

You get Two-Handed Swordsmen as Bulgarians, not just Longswords.

2HS is a good unit as it is, and specially stellar after Bagains.

they are good, but aztec (way better), teuton and slav champs in groups are better and all champs are better vs one of infantryā€™s hard counters = archersā€¦ and all those civs have eco bonuses on top of pretty diverse tech treesā€¦ iaw while bagains is good, it certainly isnt anything amazing like furor celtica, or drill

The the Teuton bonus shouldnt affect Champions and Bagains should give 3 or 4 armor and Bulgarians should have Champs. (not free)

and then make bagains cheaper if itā€™s doing lessā€¦ another option could be to let it affect halbs (like +2 arm or something)ā€¦ yeah i know its a big boostā€¦

I would like to have something else instead of Bagains when they got Champion like +30HP for Scorpion and elite.

If youā€™re in a super late-game TG against another pala civ then maybe, but most of the time having a cav unit that has more DPS than a Lith pala for less ressource and earlier is better.

I quite like how they are making a not-FU unit unique and different from the standard choice, rather than making yet again another FU+bonus unit.
