Ideas to make militia line viable (in all ages)

finally we get back to a healthy discussion here <3

Not always, sometimes Scouts can do the job (usually if there’s not too much MAA. Same for Skirms. Also towers can work too, but it can also turn out badly - the situation where both choices counter each other and it can become a snowball very quickly.

As I tried to explain in this thread one main issue for the line why it doesn’t see much play in the midgame is the comparably high upgrade cost to get it to a “usable” state.
But there are also other points in that topic that play into that.

When i look at my list of issues with that line I doubt a pure speed increase would solve it. And also practically the way it is usually defended (always having your garrison buildings in the back to jump in) I don’t really see how the speed increase would make it better. Especially not when it’s bound to an additional upgrade.
As I said earlier: The high upgrade cost is what holds them back the most in the midgame. How do we solve that by ADDING a new upgrade?

BTW I still got no answers from the guys that posted that concept of only applying the Bonus damage against light cavalry. I have no idea why this tweak from the original concept (against all cavalry) seemed necessary to them. And instead of an answer when raising that question I only got bombarded with deviating personal framings.
For me it looks like they try to do everything that the Knights are unaffected by the changes and as they have no good reason for it, try to kill the discuss and deviate. So from now on, I will finish all my posts here with this question until I get an answer to it:

Why is it seemingly so important to only apply the bonus damage to Light Cavalry and NOT to all Cavalry?
