If a Mod supports custom HK, game ignores player's base HK profile and forces new profile

just as title said, if a Mod supports custom hotkeys.json, the game will ignore player’s own hotkeys and forces player to setup brand new hotkeys. when looked into the folder it shows datamod.hkp

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. set up your own hotkeys (global, no mods)
  2. test your own hotkeys in a skirmish game make sure they work
  3. set up a local datamod with customized hotkeys.json (or download existing ones that has custom hotkeys.json)
  4. start a skirmish game with that datamod
  5. watch the hotkeys changed at step 1 reverted back to default

:point_down: What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

player’s own original hotkeys (base.hkp) or w/e its named, should copy over to mod’s hotkey or modname.hkp so that it doesnt force players to set up brand new hotkeys again.

the link being censored, starting from the line /watch, just put them all into a single line and infront of it type youtube and it’ll work

Im not sure. I have been able to post link to youtube for 3+ years now

I mean the issue not the YT link.

If a mod adds custom hotkeys, then i would assume the maker of the mod wants people to use a custom hkey setup? But not sure.

not how they did the new hotkey support for mods.

your base hotkey file base.hpk is used globally and it should carry over to mods

but the new hotkeys.json that is support by mods specific, creates a new .hpk file which is default keys and is not carried/copied over from player’s already set up hotkeys.
