The game isn’t just about religion, it’s about the civilizations as well, even if they have the same religion they shouldn’t be lumped together. That’d be like having a civilization in AoE2 or AoE3 called “Europeans”.
The Greek/Altantean (and largely the Egyptians) already present in Age of Mythology are pretty good proof that well-designed and distinctly unique civs can be made out of largely the same religious beliefs.

Of course, but here we are talking about civs of the Bronze Age where there was more cultural mishmash where culturally there were the Celts and the Nordics in the European center and the civs of the Mediterranean (Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Phoenicians and Carthaginians)…

Yes, it is not a plan to have dozens of civs when we can have greater mythological variety with a few civs only…

Agreed. Old 3 were great, Atlanteans creative and cool but not a must have - Chinese well idk… still can’t take this dlc as an official and complete one but it could be really great in theory.
I personally would be totally fine if we had just the three original factions in the base game and then later get others.
I also personally would like to see one more major god than three which would also give a bigger unit variety and play/built paths. (More units is better than more races in my opinion)
For Greek in my opinion definitley Hera should be a major god. (yeah always bothered me she was just a minor god^^)

For Norse Frigg
There are still enough minor gods and creatures to add I wouldn’t worry about that.
That’s why we have 3 factions per civilization, to represent this. Greeks for example you choose one of three major gods and it’s a fact that certain states of Greece drifted towards a certain different god.
I don’t understand what your issue is?
In a Slavic civ it will probably be a main god from east, west, south
