ISSUE EXPERIENCED
When playing with infinite resources enabled—even with a market available—clicking the tribute screen produces the error:
“You need a market to pay tribute”
This error message is incorrect because:
- The player clearly has a market.
- Infinite resources mode should either allow the tribute transaction or display a more appropriate error message indicating that tribute cannot be sent under these conditions.
I was playing the CBA scenario, so I’m not 100% sure if this issue is scenario-specific. However, in the standard CBA setup without infinite resources, tribute transactions work as expected.

REPRODUCTION STEPS
List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!
- Launch the Game: Start a multiplayer match with allies and the infinite resources setting enabled.
- Verify Market Availability: Ensure to start in castle age to be able to build a market.
- Access Tribute Screen: Open the tribute screen during gameplay.
- Attempt Tribute: Try to send tribute to a teammate.
- Observe the Error: Notice that the game incorrectly displays the error message: “You need a market to pay tribute” despite the market being present.
EXPECTED RESULT
What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?
Either:
- A more fitting error message should be displayed, such as:
“You cannot send resources to a player with infinite resources”
or - The tribute transaction should go through normally,
In the spirit of the situation, remember: “It’s the thought that counts.”
