Interesting discussion with Anotand, Avely, Beastyqt and Wam about the game, hosted by Blade55555

Any summary or highlights to stimulate discussion for those of us lacking time / used to posting in threads on the go?

(thanks in advance to anyone who has the time)

First 45 minutes: they’re discussing patch changes, mostly approval with some feelings of imbalance towards siege and pro scouts.

Next 30 minutes: DLC speculation, most expect 2 civs 2 variants. Nothing confirmed here, everyone is respecting NDA, more speculation about dev motivation than a peek into what will be released.

Last hour 15 minutes: Talking about upcoming tournaments and map selection.

Overall a very neutral conversation, repeating a lot of what most people have said over the last week, or just having an inside baseball conversation over tournaments.

It’s mostly about the state of the game, their expectations for the upcoming DLC, and then maps in general (Avely is also a map maker) and tournaments.

Also they hinted several times at more food sources in the near future, and even though they didn’t break NDA, some of those did feel suspiciously confident, as in “I hope if we’re getting more food sources, this will also fix Pro Scouting”.

Yes, I just heard it, apparently they are very faithful to the policy of not revealing spoilers.

And well, i understand it: Let’s remember that when Age of Mobile came out in 2024, many insider users revealed a lot of spoiler information, it was spoken badly of in the weeb, and they lost their insider license to obtain content ahead of time.

I suppose that so that the same thing does not happen again, unpublished content must remain unpublished and content creators who know how the policy works must be more careful with it.

Anyway. I’m going to move forward with my Morocco concept, which I think I’m already excited enough to publish, at least it will be preferable so that people stop asking for “Berber” civ, which I don’t think will ever come out with that name, it’s already such a broad term for too many kingdoms of that time, which would be the same as asking for an “Arab kingdom” as a new civ or a “Black kingdom” instead of Mali, Songhay, Kanem-bornur, Hausa, etc.
