:arrow_forward: ISSUE EXPERIENCED

 DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.

AOE2: DE works, but there is an intermittent fade to black screen for a few seconds, then it comes back. The game is still running when this happens. I have dual monitors. The one I play AOE: DE on is 4k, the other 1080p. I have a 4090 with latest drivers. I run the game in 4K. This did not used to happen.

The Internet told me to try VSync/No Vsync or Windowed Mode. This did not fix the problem and Windowed Mode is just unplayably bad. I tried the Enhanced Graphics (UHD) free download from Steam, but had the same lack of wide area view others complained of, and I immediately disabled it.

The problem is either a bug or some setting somewhere. It looks like some people may have had this issue for years.

:arrow_forward: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

 How often does the issue occur? CHOSE ONE; DELETE THE REST!

  • 100% of the time / matches I play (ALWAYS) - It happens every time I play. Sometimes, the problem doesn’t start for maybe an hour, though. Then the screen will go dark for 5 seconds perhaps every 5 or 10 minutes.
