The ‘campaign’ vs. ‘scenario’ semantics issue of whether or not they bait-and-switched already pretty much concluded after this post, as Quasibrodo ended up buying the DLC about 8 posts after this:
More specificity from Marketing is always great and saying ‘campaigns’ is a little confusing at least on the surface (even confused me about 4 years ago), but the wording happened, there’s franchise precedent from at least like 24 years ago to use ‘campaign’ naming, Filthydelphia used ‘campaigns’ to describe his content in 2019 (and likely earlier than that, too, I’m guessing), and the DLC didn’t launch yet… so we can choose to not buy if we don’t feel it’s worth it
Time will tell what all the DLC actually brings. Hopefully there is more value in it than what many are seeing pre-launch and the price is, ultimately, seen as more justified. Again, though, won’t know for sure until launch! We won’t have to wait too long yet
