Invalid Identifiers with the Init.per file

:backhand_index_pointing_down: DESCRIBE THE ISSUE IN DETAIL (below). LIMIT TO ONE BUG PER THREAD.

The Skirmish game A.I. doesn’t work for years. It is mainly related to the “init.per” file in the “Promissory” folder. It constantly says “invalid identifier.”

Some of them look like mistyping, such as “set-goal multiplyer 3” instead of “set-goal multiplayer 3,” which line wasn’t fixed though. However, most of them are not sure whether they are due to mistyping. Just too many cases… I tried to add “;” before the errored lines, but I thought it would be nearly endless considering the thousands of whole lines.

:play_button: REPRODUCTION STEPS

:backhand_index_pointing_down: List CLEAR and DETAILED STEPS we can take to reproduce the issue ourselves… Be descriptive!

Here’s the steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Play a Skirmish game with a standard A.I.
  2. As soon as you start the game, the error about “invalid identifier” pops up.

:backhand_index_pointing_down: What was SUPPOSED to happen if the bug you encountered were not present?

There should be no problems in playing games.

:play_button: IMAGE

:backhand_index_pointing_down: ALWAYS attach a PICTURE (.jpg, .png, .gif) or VIDEO (.mp4, YouTube link) that highlights the problem.

This is, however, I think only to some players.

I’ve already reinstalled the game, but it didn’t work at all. Now I am doing once again, but I don’t think it would work.

I have no mods activated, especially I have no A.I. mods at all.

:play_button: GAME FILES (SAVE / RECORDING)

:backhand_index_pointing_down: Attach a SAVE GAME (.aoe2spgame) or GAME RECORDING (.aoe2record) of the match where you encountered the issue. Link it below if using an external file service.

Maybe some of the advice here will help:

For me, all three AIs work fine, and I don’t have any .per2 files in the Promisory folder - only .per files.

It finally worked! Thank you so much! Now, what I need to do is find the reason why custom A.I.s interrupt the original A.I.s.

For others, there’s the way: delete all custom A.I. files other than the A.I. builder folder and the Promissory folder.
