Hello, it’s not exactly a bug per se…
But is there a reason why an invitation (to join a rank or lobby team game) only stays available for like 10 seconds?
I’ve had to ask friends to “re-invite” so many times because I’ve mised it.
Why not keep invitations valid longer?

I’ve had issues Steam-inviting people to lobby, too. (Seems that I’m on the opposite side of things, since I always send the invites.) I have to send invites multiple times nearly every time. Send, re-send, chat (“did you get my invite, why not working, what method are you using to try and accept it, etc.”), re-send, re-send, chat, finally they join my lobby.
I partially assumed it was something they’re doing or not doing, but wasn’t sure. Being that it’s an invite dance every time we’ve done this for years, plus your post makes me suspect more that it is something with the game. I usually play SP, so haven’t done much investigating to figure things out. When we agree to play, we just want to play… not spend 30 mins troubleshooting.
I’ve gotten so frustrated last few times that I just click “Invite” about 5 or 10 times in a row. This has seemed to work better, but I don’t know if it’s just coincidence or if they’re figuring things out better on their end, or what:
Last time we played, I think they said they found it’s better to launch the game first and then accept the invite, rather than use the invite as a game launch + join lobby action.
PS: If this gets worked on, I think the invite screen should be updated to include an “OK” button, too. Always seems weird that after I send an invite, the only options to get back to lobby are “Cancel” and “X”. Makes me wonder every time if I’m canceling my invite when I do that. Like, do I, ideally, need to sit on the invite pop-up window and wait for them to enter my lobby before I close out of the window? (Which isn’t realistic because the pop-up blocks your view of the lobby, so it’s harder to see when they join)
PPS: Is Steam invites somewhat broken? I believe I was able to send an invite when they’re offline in the past. You know, so they see the invite when they fire up their PC. Today, I just see this, and it doesn’t let me search for or find the name I want. (They’re offline, but I don’t think that should matter, personally):
