Be nice to see an Irish or Scottish civ. Galloglasses, kerns, calivermen, ostmen.
Scottish are one of my top requested civs personally. I think players would like them. Right now the only civs over 5% pick rate in quick match are western Europe civs: English, French, HRE, Lancaster and Templars. People play what they are familiar with and the civs of their ancestors. Scottish would appeal to the player base for sure. The above civs are also easy to play. I don’t think anyone appreciates the extra work they have to put into Byzantines and Delhi.
I think they would be a fine addition.
The only thing I’m on the fence about are calivermen. They were soldiers using light, pretty much standardised arquebuses and weren’t unique to Scots or Irish - in fact the English used them in larger numbers. They were also used in the later half of the 1500s
Similar to my Italian States concept,
The Irish and Scottish can come as 2 variants of “unused. hidden” civilisation.
Definitely Yes.
But I appreciate the effort on Byzantines - it is iconic medieval civilisation.
