Is AoE III DE dying

We should help the game in somewhat of crowdfunding tournaments, promotions or something
To show Microsoft, Worlds Edge, Tantalus and Forgotten Empires, that we the community love and care about AOE 3

Esoc events are crowdfunded/ boosted by subs. Probably the closest thing we have to a premier league. There are often several smaller events going on at any time; Freefoodparty is doing a revolt only event for example. Esoc autumn event to kick off september 6th but unless you follow Esoc no way of knowing this.

However, there is no promotion of these events via WE so its only through word of mouth which means a lot of people will not even know about it. I wish they would at least allow some promotion on the steam page

The management has no idea what the game is about or what is going on with it. They just follow some basic routines indifferently while they clearly show passion for the other games.

I don’t know if that’s true. The visual updates they did last year were amazing and completely free, and no one really asked for them as far as I could tell. The devs seemingly just did it out of their own passion for the game and its time period.

That was a long-requested feature though, but it is true it’s not anything urgent or essential.

Shame that the company gives zero acknowledgement to such dedication.

My guess is the devs working on aom is the same group of people working on aoe3, so they are busy with aom

People already know that for more than a year lol a bit of a late guess

The developers did that, not Microsoft or World’s Edge. And even then the last update was in January if I’m not mistaken.

The game is as alive as a newly reanimated zombie. :upside_down_face:

Yes, a few days ago the Spring Championship matches were uploaded on ESOC TV
It can’t be that it costs them so much to announce this on social networks

that’s true, but wouldn’t they need permission from the higher ups to do that? They could have made the devs allocate that time and resources to other projects, but instead they let AOEIII have the content.

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of hoping the higher ups care about this game. Even making it free to play felt like a way of diverting attention from it.

They put out an official notice on the Official AOE Discord about the upcoming ESOC Tournament today. There is still support for this game and community at WE and Microsoft, even if it feels sparse. Just have a little more patience; we know goodies are coming.

Me now

Why are you happy. It’s a complete nothing burger, that doesn’t highlight that they are even aware of the current issues. F.e. Nothing about ottoblob, nothing to improve italy or malta.
And we haven’t seen anyhting in regards to how good the quality is of the content in regards to the commonwealth and denmark-

As much as I want to be optimistic, I second this. They haven’t given us a good reason to believe anything. Any time they’ve just been “working on things” and throw it all out there when it’s “complete” hasn’t usually turned out well. Introducing new bugs and massive balance issues, to say the least.

I have been hearing empty promises from them for years such as improved communication. My patience is waning. They haven’t shown a single real action that makes me want to believe them.

I don’t think AOE3 will die. It is not impacted by AOE4 or AOMR and will remain steady for quite a while. But WE always give me the impression thaf they want to kill it.

I have the bar so low that just by saying something about AoE 3 I get excited, but obviously I keep a cool head to see how the DLC comes out

AoE3 isn’t dead, but it’s not because World’s Edge isn’t trying to kill it
