Is viper trolling red bull, overconfident, or?

exactly. arbs + onagers + shotel should be able to answer anything incans can throw at them.

Nili did have an interesting line of thought about the Teutons in landmadness. Basically, with the right strategy Teuton farming bonus is a super useful in landmadness, making Teutons not only a viable pick, but also a strong pick in that patricular map.

Edit:

Spoilers from Viper vs Yo

This comment did not aged that well.

The strategy did work against Hera, but Yo, who did cast that game in Chinese, was well aware of the strategy Viper was going for. He knew exactly what he was against and played accordingly.

In normal RM Arabia, dark age bonus can make or break civilizations, but in Empire Wars civilizations behave differently. Civs with strong dark age lose that edge over their competitors and civs which are designed to have weak dark age lose one of their weaknesses.

Against incas eagles. Yeah. Sure.
Shotel is the real counter. But again, depending 100% on your UU is never a good option

Onagers deal easily with Inca Eagles.

doesn’t much matter, hera has proven a lot lately that viper is completely in his head.

That’s a completely different matterbut thanks for agreeing with me

 (post must be at least 20 characters)

ornlu sumed it up quite well keep in mind yo casted viper vs hera also viper played yo after hera so no much time to rest or prepare.
Despite what i said i think he just take it as fun/relaxed turnament tbh money difference between 1st and 2nd is not significant for him. Settings are not standart so there is still no reason to belive he isnt the best player in 1vs1 right now.

Viper didn’t let Mr. Yo win, he lost, get over it.

Makes tournaments actually way more interesting to watch.

agreed. viper did not play to viper level in the redbull tournament against Yo.
that said, i’m not a fan of the redbull style for a multitude of reasons.

  1. time limit win allows for shenanigans. (sometimes this wouldn’t have changed the outcome, sometimes it did. for example the MBL vs Hera game 3. that should have been a win for MBL if it was allowed to continue).
  2. Empire Wars takes away from build diversity.

i kind of figured he’d lose to Yo, because Empire wars caters more to yos playstyle (ie, with everything already setup you can go into fast agro and cause chaos).

I think Empire Wars especially allows for more of a snowball effect. A bad early engagement, maybe even due to unlucky scouting, can snowballl heavily. In normal RM you have more time to set up, scout and prepare and the game is more stable.
We saw this in G2 where Yo simply won cause his fwd siege did not get spotted (+ the stable). It was a great move, watching out that Vipers camel doesnt scout his vill and finding the perfect places.
In G4 Viper again very narrowly missed yo’s Range opening. Yo caused early trouble and snowballed it into Victory ( by amazing play ofc).

If you want the official answer, Viper is addressing it currently on mixer.

You can rewatch the vod on Mixer, and I’ll try update with a timestamp/link after the stream ends.

EDIT
This should be the link to the vod including the timestamp. Let me know if it isn’t working. Also @MatCauthon3 I’ve edited it in.

I’m hesitant to say this, as I would have never have indulged this thought previously,

but there’s a distinct possibility that Viper is in fact human.

Viper is the biggest troll. He is even smurfing in the RB tournament under the name Mr. Yo! So Viper still won Red bull 1111111111111
