Italy settler speed upgrade

I tested mill with 0.67 gather speed.
Without settler speed cards

With them.

The additional 15% increase in settler speed was added pre-release. It was probably meant to change something in the economy, but 6.25% isn’t that much. And you need to spend two whole cards for this.

Everyone gets the +5%, so there is no advantage.

People learn timings. This will be very inconvenient for experienced players and will scare off new ones because it is not clear what to expect. On each map, going to age 2 with a different number of settlers - who needs this, seriously.

Jokes aside: i think its more of an earlygame bonus → decreasing the time between mines further out on the map and more importantly to run away from and survive raids

Edit: regarding card investment: i would take ‘marco polo’ anyway, the vill speed is just a nice side effect

its basically a slightly lesser Food Silo but part of it is a team effect and makes you less vulnerable to raids
