It’s getting closer and closer to Chinese Spring Festival, and it’s not a wise choice to start propaganda until the holiday starts here. Sincere advice
When does Chinese New Year start?
I think early February
On January 28th. (Why do we have to gather 20 characters?)
I hope they announce the release date soon.
January 29th. Year of the snake.
But they have never promised to release it during the festival.
No, that’s entirely speculation. I hope they announce the release date soon, so we can stop speculating like that.
Yeah I was about to say. It’s already behind schedule, since we were told it would release in 2024. I’m fine with that, I get stuff gets delayed, but some sort of communication (even if it’s “hey we’re behind schedule, still can’t give a definitive release date but we’re thinking [whatever quarter]”) would be appreciated.
Maybe the release will be at the end of the year They’ve changed their plans and decided to only release one DLC per year. I don’t know from a business point of view what’s best for them and what time of year to do it.
They announced the delay exclusively on Twitter/X, and in the same tweet they announced the holidays event.
Which is some communication, but not enough IMO. Not everyone has Twitter/X or checks it regularely.
For those that don’t, they need to rely entirely on word of mouth.
Yeah, that’s me, I don’t have Twitter. Is that where they said the only one DLC per year thing too? Is that just for AOM or is that for all games in the franchise?
I haven’t heard about the only one DLC per year thing yet.
so early February is new Chinese year okay then maybe we get it some time in February but early February seems quite a bit too close for advertising.
I also btw agree with the disliking of nearly to no or excluded advertising.
There are companies who ONLY use either Twitter/“x” or Reddit for their announcements/updates/news and I really dislike that. Not everyone has that or want to use it.
Anyway I think we can expect some sort of news (I assume on Twitter) in the next 2-4 weeks.
I am really curious about the two other major gods and the minor gods with their new GPs.
January 28th is actually Christmas Eve in China.
I don’t expect the DLC to release on Chinese New Year, I think it’s too early this year.
But I do expect them to release some trailer or something. It’s been a long time since they showed the last trailer and it already looked good back then so they surely have something to show already.
@Skadidesu yes and also the introduction of the Chinese DLC on YouTube was mentioned as a “Teaser”, I don’t think that’s the official cinematic for Chinese DLC.
I think we will have another cinematic in March or April and a release of the DLC in September or October, maybe even in december to boost sales with christmas
For me “Teaser”, “Gameplay” and “Cinematic” are just subcategories of “Trailer”.
But yes I assume the next trailer will be a cinematic one.
I don’t think the DLC will release that late. It would be crazy for a DLC to be delayed by a whole year. You would expect them to take less then a year to make it and they already showed us the teaser trailer back then.
Also they promised the 2nd DLC for this year.
Under the new Steam rules for Season Pass a delay like this would not be possible anymore. Upcoming Season Passes on Steam will allow everyone a refund if any of the content is delayed by more then 3 months.
In that case, we’ll either be able to play Immortal Pillars by March, or have the portion of our money back that we paid specifically for that?
No because the new Steam rules were made after AoMR released. They don’t apply to already sold Season Passes.
Just saying that this would not be possible anymore in the future. Not sure how publishers are going to deal with those rules. They have to be a lot more conservative with promised time lines or they will have to force release broken DLC.
I was just generally speaking about how I think it’s very unlikely that this DLC will be delayed by a whole year. There was a year between major AoE3DE DLC so why should there be over a year between the teaser trailer and the actual release of the DLC?
