Is this a bad joke or something? In what world should the god of Cavalry have weaker cavalry then No skill power creep DLC Japan?
Poseidon should have the best undisputed cavalry in the game. Not Nuwa with 40% extra resources and gold trickle or Tsukyomi with free research.
He should have the best baseline cavalry and beat even tier 6 bushido cav assuming equal upgrades and military value.
Fix your game balance. You nerfed p2w DLC china its time to bring japan down.
Only competition should maybe be Ra with 45% hp camels with correct gods. Jap cav needs to be brought down a ton.
Why should Poseidon be the best at horses? Greeks are not particularly known for cavalry.

Poseidon is only the god of horses for the Greeks. That doesn’t mean his cavalry should be better than the cavalry gods of other civs.

Of course, in any case Poseidon should be better at naval warfare, not so much cavalry… Zeus would be infantry, heroes and mythical units, and Hades archers and siege warfare… Demeter should focus on the economy and buildings (like Gaia for the Atlanteans)…

Yes, it doesn’t make sense in either the real lore or the game’s lore… especially since in the Fall of the Trident campaign, the Atlanteans serve Poseidon and live on a damn island in the Atlantic where there’s no room for large cavalry armies… in any case, Poseidon should be incredibly powerful at sea (something like Oceanus for the Atlanteans)…

That seems strange to me too… I always pictured the Atlanteans with a powerful navy, so how come they have such good cavalry living on an island? There aren’t any grazing areas like those in Central Asia… it’s like if the Minoans from AoE 1 were also good at cavalry…
Atlantis isn’t supposed to be a small island. It’s a continent.
Yes, it depends if you’re only counting the city or everything else… on the AoM map it looks more like a large island similar to Iceland, Madagascar, or even New Zealand than an entire continent like Australia…
Bear in mind that the Japanese are also based on a much later historical period than Greek mythology, so it’s a given that they’re going to have more advanced weapons.
Yea aom has some suspension of disbelief, otherwise japan, china and norse that are more modern would have a field Day on the other civs if it were realistic.
Coming back to the poseidon thing, Technically prodromos does beat all other cav units, so he has that going for him.
Japanese are power crept, their minor god benefits are way stronger then both older factions and the Aztecs. So either Aztecs need to be brought up, or Japs need to be toned down.
Let’s maybe not call them Japs.

It’s not like AoM’s Atlanteans are based on Plato’s Atlanteans anyway. They’re based on Graham Hancock-esque conspiracy theories (part of the reason why I despise them, thought I would still dislike them if they didn’t reference those).
