Jeanne d'Arc - Level 4 Melee JD + Extra damage - Level 4 Melee JD gains extra damage (typically ~17.5%) because extra torch damage is being added to her base damage

For Jeanne d’Arc, her Level 4 Melee Hero form has 40 base damage (Siege).

However, it is possible for her Level 4 Melee form to have up to 40+10 damage (+25% extra damage) without any upgrades, due to her weapon somehow gaining the extra torch damage you gain through aging up.

Sequence of events that can give her different amounts of extra damage:

  • Start (Age I) → Level 2 Melee JD → Age II → Age III → Age IV → Level 4 Melee JD: 40+10 damage
  • Start (Age I) → Age II → Level 2 Melee JD → Age III → Age IV → Level 4 Melee JD: 40+7 damage
  • Start (Age I) → Age II → Level 2 Melee JD → Age III → Level 4 Melee JD: 40+3 damage

This extra damage is coming from how much extra torch damage she gained when going to Age II, III, and IV combined, starting from when she becomes Level 2 Melee Form.

Extra Torch Damage by Age:

  • Age II: +3
  • Age III: +3
  • Age IV: +4
  • Age II + Age III: 3+3 = +6
  • Age II + Age III + Age IV: 3+3+4 = +10
  • Age III + Age IV: 3+4 = +7

For normal melee units, this means they have 10 → 13 → 16 → 20 torch damage depending on the Age.

Normally, you can expect to get Level 2 Melee JD in Age II, and Level 4 Melee JD in Age IV, which means typically you will end up with +7 extra damage.

Level 4 Melee JD with all Upgrades:

  • 0 extra base damage: 40 * 1.25 * 1.2 = 60 damage
  • +7 extra base damage: (40+7) * 1.25 * 1.2 = 70.5 damage (+17.5% total damage)
  • +10 extra base damage: (40+10) * 1.25 * 1.2 = 75 damage (+25% total damage)

I assume this is unintended.

Solution: Do not let Level 4 Melee JD inherit or gain the extra torch damage into her main weapon.
