So, after 1 week we have round about 53% positive approval with 530+ reviews. Sounds like the majority of the community is enjoying the content. Hopefully the devs see it as a succeess and continue to add more asian content. Maybe a Japan DLC next?

It is valid, but it’s not a success. Almost nearly half of the reviews are negative, when they should be a minority for it to be successful.
Honestly while I do actually like the new units and find them interesting, the initial announcement of the DLC did leave me feeling very disappointed and hence then I’ve grown to become more apathetic towards the whole situation.
Respectfully I won’t be touching the DLC simply because it’s not something I want and I reserve the right to my own purchases. If the next DLC is something I’d actually like without major reservations then I’ll definitely buy it.
It’s not though. It’s peoples thoughts. And if you go to actually read them, there are plenty of positive reviews that are unhappy with the DLC as well.

All civilisations lack voice.
The DLC has been pretty fun to play in vs. AI games. I use 3K civ and AI is random civ.
Granted, I don’t really know very well how to use the hero moves… at least not efficiently… and don’t really care, as I’m not a fan of heroes, but the non-hero aspects of the civs aren’t horrible, imo. The little square catapults were strange at first, but I appreciate them now.
I find the tech where you can make religious techs cost food instead of gold is a little worthless to me
Had to post in this topic because the other topic about the DLC has that annoying ‘wait 1 hou between posts’ timer. I value my time, so won’t be letting the forum try to de-value it by wasting my time
You don’t as their skirmish versions don’t have any activatable abilities.
