Because of this, teams that contain joystick players should lose less elo, since it is unfair, it is as if they were playing unbalanced 2 vs 3 games.
This is not how ELO is supposed to work.
If they would lose less ELO they would keep getting matched against stronger players.
Minor correction: Elo is a person’s name, not an acronym. Only the first letter should be capitalised.
Main point: you’re exactly right. If we take two players whose knowledge of the game is equal and whose mechanical skill is equal, one playing on KB&M and one on controller, the controller player will probably equalise at something like 100 Elo lower than KB&M. If they then match in a TG with some other players, the points their team will gain or lose will be the same as if they’d matched with a player whose game knowledge or skill was lower, despite being on KB&M. Because their team’s chance of winning is the same as that circumstance.
I still don’t know how anyone can play with a controller. Especially because the developers, in their infinite ‘wisdom’, decided to make the villager manager something that can be enabled or disable for everyone, instead of making it an individual option for each player. The villager manager is so ridiculous that it’s almost insulting for controller players to be deprived of it, even if it only helps 1%.
Make the villager manager something that can be enabled from the individual settings menu! Not something global. No mouse player, or any player for that matter, feels cheated by playing with someone who uses the villager manager…
