Militia line +3 bonus attack vs archers
Houses slowly generate food
Farms hold 100% more food at the cost slower collection rate
Scout Line gain +10% speed boost when spear line is within 2 tiles
Houses can train herdables, (they hold half the normal food, and collect extremely slow(no rot)
show me a single unit or effect in game that triggers upon units getting within a certain radius? heck abilities like that don’t exist in aoe2 in general. activated abilities like that are more of a sc/warcraft thing.
with triggers. as in not with currently existing multiplayer units.
as for how can unique be a bad thing? well lets see.
they gave khmer a unique bonus and the civ has been nerfed numerous times since then.
sicilians and burgundians were designed to be unique and those civs suck.
the feitoria is unique and its terrible.
cumans were designed with unique in mind and look how good that civ is.
aoe3 was (by devs own statement) to be unique and change things up and that game is the black sheep of the aoe franchise.
That changes the entire game mechanics of farms, this does not. It would be like any other unit speed boost bonus(which there are plenty and no one says they are bad) except it only appears when spearmen are nearby. Still unique, but not fundamental game mechanic changing
Their UTs suck, most of their bonuses aren’t that bad imo.
How does a speed boost to cav units have anything in common with the feitoria? My suggestion for houses generate food is close to feitoria and you had nothing to say to that
Again, how does this have anything to do with this? Are you saying that their cavalry speed boost is a bad bonus?
AoE3 currently has more players than AoE1 and AoM on steam. So if that is the Black Sheep, what are the other two?
No. It would be worse. It would be a silly league of legends mechanic involving individual units. The very existence of the coustiller’s mechanic already bothers me a lot, I don’t want more of those.
you mean the cuman buff that was already nerfed because they had husbandry and +10% faster and then got reduced to just a +15% in imp bonus?
and yet their eco bonus is terrible. the point wasn’t what fans feel about the bonuses the point was whether or not they were good. because your argument was “unique is good” and i pointed out a bunch of unique stuff that isn’t good.
true but aoe3 de came out 6 months ago. aoe1 has been out for over 3 years. furthermore steam wasn’t even the initial release for aoe de it was the microsoft store. do you know how many people are playing through the microsoft store?
and age of mythology? released on steam in 2014 and had 2100 players yesterday. aoe3 6 months ago and had 3800. yeah man. you’re beating a 7 year old game by 1700 players. meanwhile aoe2 which came out in 2019 is beating aoe3 by over 20,000 players.
I asked if you thought it is OP, currently, present tense. Not past tense. It WAS OP, now it isn’t OP. This is a 10% speed boost, when within 2 tiles of pikes. It is very situational, and can help get out of sticky situations. I’ve seen quite a few games where a scout rush went south because the scouts got trapped by spears during a raid. One side gets quickwalled, with spears at the other end. The extra speed would help them escape faster, perhaps saving a scout and at least saving a little hp.
I never said “unique is good” I said just because it is unique doesn’t mean it is bad. There are plenty of “unique” bonuses and UT that aren’t bad, just because there are some that are doesn’t mean we can’t get more.
And apparently AoE3 isn’t played through Microsoft store? There is a reason AoE3 is getting support while AoE1 isn’t, or at least that’s how I see it
Is Age of Mythology on Microsoft store? Not last time I checked, and Age3 DE is, so i’m pretty sure it’s more than 1700 players.
