[Just for fun] Unique bonuses for hypothetical new civs

But still this is basically having your towncentre work at double speed if I’m not mistaken, put 12 on food and just completely outboom opponent. At least Cumans need to reach Feudal and build an entire other town-centre for double production speeds

What happens with Tupi if you’re at 199.5 pop and try to train blackwood archers? (Although maybe 199.5 rounds up to 200 so this never happens?)

50 seconds into the game you’d have 7 villagers to your opponent’s 5. Then I guess you wouldn’t have enough food for more villagers and would research loom. After loom you’d probably have some idle time, but it can never be enough to put you behind your opponent in villager count. By the time you have 13 villagers you’d be able to sustain villager production, so I guess you would end Dark Age with at least 10 more villagers than your opponent.

I think this bonus would be very powerful, but potentially quite annoying when you only have 1 pop space or only 50 food.

I think this is how it happens.

Housing capacity increases with age something like 6 8 10?

Idle farms slowly grow food.

Your TC disables all aura bonuses within a 99999999-tile square permanently.

Except Bimaristan.

  • Stone Walls return their cost upon destruction.
  • Palisade Walls are 66% cheaper.
  • Technologies don’t cost stone.

RIP Caravanserai

  • Buildings except Farms and Town-Centres return their wood cost upon deletion or destruction
  • Deletion of farms yields wood equal to total percentage of farm used times the cost of the farm
  • Wheelbarrow and Hand Card have double the effect
  • UT that allows you to create UU at town-centres and makes town-centres cost -50%

I really dislike housing divisibilites that aren’t 5s. It just looks clunky unless I’m not understanding what you mean by that

I was thinking of a UU—preferably a ranged one—whose RoF increases as its HP decreases. I don’t think it would be OP, but I like the idea of introducing that mechanic. Making it a UT would likely be OP.

Its just a matter of time till we get a fanatic who does more damage with each time it looses hit points.

Temple Guard is very similar to this. Except they are melee and not necessarily need to lose HP. But if you are in combat, you are highly likely losing HP anyway.

That would only happen if you are directly engaged with the enemy unit, the units on the side attacking will not loose HP but wil still attack faster. This is a version of the japanese faster attacking.

Jian already as that stronger as it loses hp

Yeah. That’s why it is okay for melee units like Temple Guard. But a ranged unit with increasing ROF will be hard to balance.

The Muisca could have worked for that

Or a Caribbean civ

Resources can be dropped off at market and/or monastery.

Gardening UT: berry bushes last indefinitely.

It sounds OP but it’d need to be researched in Castle, so by the point it can be used, most bushes on the map should be gone.

So a useless tech then?

Not if you plan in advance, leaving some of the bushes for later.

Maybe it should be just a civ bonus though, not a tech.

This would be busted as no one has or ever have a never ending food supply.Garrison sheep is borderline on this idea but you have a choice of eating the sheep now or slow trickle long time.Plus you have to find sheep.

And the technical difficulty would be how do you figure out which foraging sites are yours.if its attached to something like a distance from mill you can build one at your allies base and that too would become a never ending one.
