Why has the only good thing about the Polish lancer been nerfed?!
Are you referring to this change to the HCC upgrade for the Winged Hussar?
- Polish Horsemanship (II): Winged Hussar’s Stampede damage weakened from 4 to 2 and ROF from 1 to 1.5.
Yeah… I’m really surprised to not be seeing a base HP/damage buff on the unit… Or a lategame population reduction. It just makes no sense for Poland of all places to not have the best lancer. Arguably, to have the worst, unless including the 1 pop varieties.
Yeah, I hope in the future something will be done to push the player towards WH and away from Retainers late game. You have a great eco late game with Folworks, so currently you have no reason not to spam Retainers, and at least from my experience in the Beta not spamming retainers is actually bad.
Maybe make all the Cav upgrade cards help Retainers less and WH more? Reducing Vill cap to 90 would also maybe be good but more testing needed.
Retainer wood cost being flippable to coin I think is the point which should be tweaked to shoehorn a player from one to the other. Ideally with both ponies upgrading together for the same price somehow, making the switch feel a bit less janky. I doubt we’d see this, though.
But yeah, I wrote a big post up on the winged hussars which ended up on the closed section of the forum and I cannot comprehend how they are the way they are.
