LAN not behaving like Local Area Network mode?

  • Platform (Steam)

Issue:

LAN button is disabled when steam is in offline mode or no internet is connected. LAN means Local Area Network, so shouldn’t LAN multiplayer work offline?

Related issue: Game freezes and LAN games freeze/cause CTD when internet is disconnected, client PC on local network said “connection lost to server”, even though the local network was still running.

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Try to open LAN when offline
