The Levied Bowman unit available to the Hausa and Ethiopians at the Hut doesn’t have the “Light Infantry” tag nor the “Foot Archer” tag. This is very relevant to any units they face that counter Light Infantry because the Levied Bowman is functionally a Light Infantry unit but ignores multipliers against them, and the Foot Archer tag is relevant to the Arsenal upgrade “Infantry Breastplate” as well as a few Native techs.

  1. Train a Levied Bowman
  2. Check the tags, or just shoot the Levied Bowman with a Pandour or research Infantry Breastplate

None of the levy units are effected by upgrates, i´m sure its intendet.

Actually all of the levy units are affected by upgrades, the Levied Spearman has the “Hand Infantry” tag which makes him receive +10% hp from “Infantry Breastplate”, the Levied Gunner unit has the “Gunpowder Trooper” tag which enables him to benefit from the Jesuit “Smokeless Powder” upgrade, and both of them have the “Heavy Infantry” tag which enables them to be countered by Skirmisher-type units.

Woah that’s super fascinating, does that mean that Japanese Sentries are also bugged and shouldn’t have the “Hand Infantry” or “Heavy Infantry” tag? They have all the same stats as Levied Spearmen and also benefit from the “Infantry Breastplate” technology and get countered by Skirm-type units.
