Issue:
When i load a save game from campaign, the game tell me “Failed to load game”
Reproduction Steps:
Save game
want to load game
Failed to load game
Re launch Aoe2 def edition,
Load game, same message
Reboot Windows, Launch Aoe2, Same message
Launch game on Admin
Same message
Someone know how resolve this bug ?

I have the same issue, build 101.101.33164.0.0

Also, sometimes savse just does not appear on the list. After leaving saves & replays menu and entering it again, they appear again.
Any update on this? Would like to keep going with the campaigns, but don’t want to risk getting stuck somewhere.

-> reloaded game -> Failed to load game (IVAILO_4.aoe2spgame)
Reproduction Steps:
Manual Save
Exit AOE / Launch AOE
Restore

I want to continue my 6 hour game but it fails to load

After todays update and also using the winter mod
Just played a 5 hour map on single player and saved the game. Now I cannot load it anymore

I’ve got hte same problem.

Won’t load any saved game. 1st attempt it says Load failed. 2nd attempt it returns me to Windows.
Same problem.
Very frustrating
same issue, affects every save game, even ones that have previously loaded fine.

Same issue… First report was Nov 18th, na fix so far… Indeed, very frustrating.
I have also been having the same issue over the last few days.
Hello everyone! A few questions you can answer to help us narrow down the problem:
Are you trying to load a particular campaign mission or multiplayer game?
Are you trying to load a game saved on a previous build?
If the game crashes, are there any crash reports in one of the following folders?
C:\Users<WINDOWS USERNAME>\AppData\Local\age2_x1\logs
…\Users\UserName\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\logs
In the Windows Event Viewer
If the game does not crash, do you receive an error message when you’re unable to load the game?
Let me know! The more information we can get about this problem, the easier it will be to isolate a solution.

I try to load joan d’arc mission 3 maybe 1 hour of gameplay.
Game does not crash, just the error as mentioned. Same goes for the autosave

The save game file. If you have a specific save that is failing to load, we’d love to pass it to our team.

It should be located in a folder with this structure: C:\Users\pc\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE<Your User ID>\savegame
If you could, please upload the files to a Google Drive or OneDrive folder and then share the link. I will download it from there and pass them to the team.
A copy of your dxdiag.txt. If you can generate a file and zip it up with the save game, that will be most helpful!
I’ll get this information to our Test team so they can figure out what might be happening, so let me know what you have and I’ll see what we can do to help!
