Load saved game failled

Game Version:

  • Build (101.101.32/08.00)
  • Platform ( Microsoft Store)

Issue:

When i load a save game from campaign, the game tell me “Failed to load game”

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Save game
  2. want to load game
  3. Failed to load game
  4. Re launch Aoe2 def edition,
  5. Load game, same message
  6. Reboot Windows, Launch Aoe2, Same message
  7. Launch game on Admin
  8. Same message
    Failled%20load

Someone know how resolve this bug ?

I have the same issue, build 101.101.33164.0.0
Game from MS store

Also, sometimes savse just does not appear on the list. After leaving saves & replays menu and entering it again, they appear again.

Any update on this? Would like to keep going with the campaigns, but don’t want to risk getting stuck somewhere.

Issue:

Some saved games cant’ be reloaded
-> reloaded game Crash (KOTHYAN5.aoe2spgame)
-> reloaded game -> Failed to load game (IVAILO_4.aoe2spgame)

Reproduction Steps:

  1. Manual Save
  2. Exit AOE / Launch AOE
  3. Restore

I can send Saved file (once authorized on this forum)

Same issue here!!

I want to continue my 6 hour game but it fails to load

After todays update and also using the winter mod
Just played a 5 hour map on single player and saved the game. Now I cannot load it anymore

Won’t load any saved game. 1st attempt it says Load failed. 2nd attempt it returns me to Windows.

same issue, affects every save game, even ones that have previously loaded fine.

Hello everyone! A few questions you can answer to help us narrow down the problem:

  • Are you trying to load a particular campaign mission or multiplayer game?
  • Are you trying to load a game saved on a previous build?
  • If the game crashes, are there any crash reports in one of the following folders?
    • C:\Users<WINDOWS USERNAME>\AppData\Local\age2_x1\logs
    • …\Users\UserName\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE\logs
    • In the Windows Event Viewer
  • If the game does not crash, do you receive an error message when you’re unable to load the game?

Let me know! The more information we can get about this problem, the easier it will be to isolate a solution.

I try to load joan d’arc mission 3 maybe 1 hour of gameplay.
Game does not crash, just the error as mentioned. Same goes for the autosave

The team has asked me to collect two things if you are experiencing this issue:

  • The save game file. If you have a specific save that is failing to load, we’d love to pass it to our team.

    • It should be located in a folder with this structure: C:\Users\pc\Games\Age of Empires 2 DE<Your User ID>\savegame
    • If you could, please upload the files to a Google Drive or OneDrive folder and then share the link. I will download it from there and pass them to the team.
  • A copy of your dxdiag.txt. If you can generate a file and zip it up with the save game, that will be most helpful!

I’ll get this information to our Test team so they can figure out what might be happening, so let me know what you have and I’ll see what we can do to help! :slight_smile:
