Hi all! I’m building an AI coach for Age of Empires IV and I’m looking for players of any level to test it. Here’s 90 seconds of it coaching a real match (a loss, but the summary at the end is worth it):
What it does
- Before the match: on the loading screen it reads the map, the players and their civs, looks at how your opponents played their last matches (from the game’s official stats) and makes a plan for you.
- During the match: it reads your HUD and says each step of the plan out loud at the right moment. It warns you about idle villagers, houses and an idle town center, and reviews how you’re doing every 5 minutes. Say “hey coach” and what you see, or type it, and it changes the plan.
- After the match: a summary from the official stats: what went well, what to fix next time, and how the plan held up.
Safe to play with: it only looks at your screen, like a Discord screen share. It never clicks, never presses keys and doesn’t read the game’s memory. Nothing to install: it runs in Chrome or Edge.
What you need: AoE4 on PC in borderless or windowed fullscreen (GeForce NOW and Moonlight work too), Chrome or Edge next to the game (or your phone as a second screen), a headset, and a Google account.
What I’m asking of testers: play some matches with it, and at the end of each one give it a score from 0 to 10 and say what could be better. I read every score. While we’re testing, please use it in Quick Match or against the AI rather than in ranked.
