I am losing connection and/or experiencing big lag spikes so that the game has to “catch up” in most of my games. This is happening:

  • on multiple devices
  • on multiple networks, in multiple locations (three addresses several kilometers apart with different ISPs, on two different laptops and one desktop PC)
  • with wired and WIFI connections
  • while I am monitoring the internet and wifi of the locations and devices I play from, to see that there is no actual loss of connection
  • on high-speed networks; wifi 6 and 1.5GBPS
  • no other use has any issue except AoE2 DE. No issue downloading or uploading large files, ping tests can run continuously while game disconnects, etc

:arrow_forward: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

  • 25% of the time / matches I play (SOMETIMES)

:arrow_forward: REPRODUCTION STEPS

I played ranked games. Sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not.

:arrow_forward: EXPECTED RESULT

If I do not lose my network connection in any way, I expect that I will not lose connection to the game.

There is no image of this issue except the disconnect screen.

This is the most recent game where it happened. There was constant lag throughout this game and I had to catch up to the network a few times. But my wifi showed a strong signal connected the entire time and never dropped. Other users in this location on this network did not experience any connectivity issue. I also had Twitch open on another screen while I was playing and it never lagged or disconnected, but this game repeatedly lagged for 30seconds+ at a time before totally disconnecting.

This is the log from the game, I think.

Hi @machinegobrr
Are you using any third party antivirus on those multiple devices?

No, no anti-virus software other than whatever Windows ships with.
