Losing resources when placing Town Center on a settlement opponent is actively building

Issue:

Players attempting to build a new Town Center on a Settlement they have previously explored, but cannot currently see, will lose their resources if the opponent is actively building on that Settlement as well.
I believe this was considered a bug in Age of Mythology: Extended Edition, but this may be ‘intended’ behaviour in Retold. I am not 100% sure :stuck_out_tongue:

In the video below, keep an eye on the Ra player’s gold amount - starts off with 550 gold, it drops to 0 when the Town Center is placed on the Settlement, and then does not get refunded when they finally get current LOS.

Trigger Event:

Getting current LOS/Vision of the opponent’s recently built Town Center will cause the player to lose their resources, if they were trying to build there as well.

Repro Steps:

  1. Player 1 has previously explored vision of a Settlement, but doesn’t currently have LOS.
  2. Player 2 is building a Town Center on that Settlement.
  3. Player 1 places an unconstructed Town Center on that Settlement, without current LOS.
  4. Player 1 obtains visibility of the opponent building their Town Center on the same Settlement, and loses the resource cost of their Town Center without getting refunded. Potentially the entire cost, if the enemy has completed their Town Center.
