Make Lush beautiful Again

Lush looks ugly. Please make it not look like green creep.

I agree. The Gaia Lush in Retold looks really ugly compared to the Lush in the OG game.

Make it beatiful and please add lush to all buildings, even if very small on non-economic buildings, just so every building is in beatifull terrain like the original.

? it already got improved with flowers and grass/moss on it. i think it looks great now and is great for visiblity wise/good contrast even with the flowers etc. i think set’s monument buff should get visually a bit less prominent. but gaia lush looks now better than the old versions IMHO.

The lush looks good if you enable higher settings.

I’m on max graphical settings. The lush looks like the Jolly Green Giant’s “Coin Purse”.

thats the thing i noticed in general. i watched boit the last days and he said he doesn’t understand why some ppl say the game is hard to read. (during playing on very high settings) i think its a setting issue. if you play on relative low settings the game can look not that readable (and ofc not that very beautiful anymore which is kinda obvious but still worthy to point out.)

visually clarity my friend. feel free to suggest or draw how it should look like in your personal mind.

This is how I see lush:

I’m not an artist but I’d say less roots and more color.

The original lush was perfect.

I actually like the new one more.
I looks more like overgrown stuff with the roots. And the roots kinda explain that the Lush is transporting some healing energy.
The old Lush did function completely different and was pretty useless.

? It looks even more in „your“ words „toxic green“ to me. Way more. Also more like a mix between just moss and vomit now. Really don’t know how some of you can like the old one and can’t appreciate the new much better one.
Also it has flowers after a patch.

I’m not concerned with the old lush. It did it’s job with the graphics available in 2001.

The new lush looks like … well I said it already in the first post.

Less roots and more color dotted about. Not “no” roots, less roots.

i’ll try to help to change your mind. lets look from that perspective: the roots are the veins of life and it spreads to every corner so it can give new life. roots transport the juice of life and fertility and are the source of the magic to let villagers move faster and heal. if you remove that there would be less healing and less fertile ground - you don’t want that do you? look at it like the veins we have in our body, yes, even you. would we remove most of your veins way less blood would be transported to every corner of your body. what would happen? yes, exactly, parts of your limbs and organs would give up and i doubt you wouldn’t want that either.
hope this helped.

I personally think that the most unacceptable thing about this LUSH is that it has no animation. It cannot expand slowly and continuously like CREEP in SC2, and it always makes people feel that it is not finished. Is this a problem with the game engine?

I don’t think their engine is capable of doing that without major edits.
The question is it worth it to spend a lot of time to code a system that is used for 1/10 (soon 1/13) gods unlike Starcraft where it’s used by 1/3 races.

Like you, I don’t think the engine can do this, neither would it be worth the time. I think an easy way to bypass this limitation would be to make each new layer of lush slowly “appear” from transparent texture to opaque.

That doesn’t make it look any less like an old man’s gangrenous nut sack.
