Make Ping Colors Match Player Color + Remove Large Icons from Pings

Hi devs,

I wanted to share a small but impactful quality-of-life suggestion for multiplayer matches, especially team games. Right now, the standard ping color is a beige/yellowish tone no matter who pings. This makes it hard to quickly identify which teammate pinged without checking the chat or asking. It would be far more intuitive and helpful if the ping color matched the player’s in-game color — e.g., if the purple player pings, it should be a purple ping on the minimap and screen. Same for blue, green, etc.

Also, I’d like to suggest removing the large icons currently attached to pings (the sword for attack, shield for defend, and exclamation point for alert). While the intent is good, they tend to cover up the exact area the player is trying to highlight, especially in combat or tight spaces. A clean, color-coded ping without an oversized icon would be easier to see and less visually intrusive.

Thanks for all your hard work — the game has come a long way and keeps getting better. These tweaks would go a long way in improving team communication clarity during games.

Great idea of player colors.

But i think the ping icon of defend and sward etc. are pretty good already and need to be visible as now specially if they are going to take the player colors. Maybe it should allow to ping on units so that they would be highlighted if pinned upon.

Also maybe allow to drag the ping so it would draw an arrow in the direction of the drag on the ground would be great. that way we can direct ally army with arrows,
