Market Tasking & Route Bug

  • Game Version: Retold current

Issue:

This is for online play. Standard players probably aren’t seeing this much because of the nature of their game. I play DM, we build a market at our home base to advance in the first minute of the game. When you task caravan waypoints onto the market to go to the furthest available TC they will behave and go to the furthest TC. However, they will then bring their drop off to a much shorter length market in DM to the one we used to advance ages in our home base instead of the furthest markets, for a huge amount of a route less after that. The only way to get around this is to manually task the waypoints for your furthest markets to pump caravans out to your furthest TC. It does not happen when you do it like this. This has happened in every single game. I’m not at my computer right now to upload a video, but if you play test it, it will happen.

I have tested the market a little and have a video verifying market caravan behavior is not working the same as before. If you task markets on a TC the caravans default to using the closest market rather than a far market as they had done in previous patches. This behavior needs to be looked at as it makes it a liability to build markets in your base and forces players to delete them or manually retask many caravans midgame

I have seen players legitimately lose games by not noticing the market is behaving like this and using the awful short trade route you are seeing by default
