Maximizing XP With Revolutionary France (Bug?)

I am trying to figure out how to play Revolutionary France and Sansculottes sort of being villiagers but also not is taking some getting used to.

The other thing I am running into, and I am not sure if it is a bug, is that after playing “Reign of Robespierre”, “Cult of the Supreme Being”, and “Napoleonic Warfare,” I am getting just 2-4 XP per enemy unit per kill. It seems somewhere along the way one of these cards seriously messed up my kill XP unless I heavilu misread one o them.

I know that for some things the order you do them in really matters, so is there something I should be doing to get these XP bonuses instead of what looks like a penalty?

Does anyone have any similar experiences with the XP happening like this? I searched the forum several times and can’t really find anything.

Interessting observation… i never noticed it, when playing napoleonic france myself. Could u recreate this or did it only happen once?

I think the cards for “Reign of Robespierre” and “Napoleonic Warfare” are bugged:

-When I send just 1 of these, the enemies I kill give just a little more XP.

-When I first send “Reign of Robespierre” and then “Napoleonic Warfare”, the enemies I kill give very little XP (around 20% of normal), so doing this is counterproductive.

-When I first send “Napoleonic Warfare” and then “Reign of Robespierre”, the enemies I kill give a little more than double the XP of what they normally give, so doing this is the most convenient.

This needs to be reported as a bug.

This is a weird one, the two tech have the same line of text and yet for some weird reason the effect they give is definitely not the same

For some reason the way napoleonic warfare gives you more XP is that it adds an additional line of XP to the kill XP worth the extra XP it grants (20%)

While reign of Robespierre just adds xp to the total

this makes it so that for some reason if you send reign of Robespierre first then then napoleonic warfare it kinda deletes the first line, leaving the lesser line behind

While if you do the reverse, then reign of Robespierre boost both line of XP, giving you like double the XP of a unit kill


This is very strange since both techs effectively say the same thing

Triplely strange is that napoleonic warfare doesnt increase the xp bounty for all units??

alot of guardians dont get the extra xp line after sending Napoleonic warfare

Imagine if there could have been some way to notice this before it became a bug and was only caught years later by players. Well I’m very happy this can be addressed in the very next upcoming surely soon to be released PATCH.

To be fair, AOE2DE has lots of this kind of problem too. For example, they already gave up on finding all the path issues by themselves and asked the community help
Would be great if some higher ups could have an amazing idea called “to grow the team”, as it doesnt seem to be big enough to deal with everything they have on hands

Thanks for the details! So it looks like it’s bugged either way, as in if I send Robespierre second, I get way more XP than I should, and if I send it first, I get less?

And Cult of the Supreme Being is independent of these issues?

It has happened at least twice, but I don’t recall the order I sent cards in.

cult of the supreme being reduces kill bounty of your units so it is independent
