From the perspective of everyone else on the forum who has only a passing understanding of the architecture, Iām probably the closest to being an expert. But objectively, Iām not an expert.
Make it 4. Americans donāt count. They would use Dark Age architecture for the whole game.
Saracens already are the arabsā civ. If youāre talking about spliting Saracens⦠Iāve once written a (long) post about splitting Saracens on reddit. Take a read if you want the long answers.
Short answer to your precise question: The only version of hypothetical North African - Near East DLC I would accept includes 4 new civs and a reworked one⦠I donāt find it plausible tbh. But, anyways, if it were to happen, I wouldnāt give an āArabiansā or āBedouinsā civ that specific set, cause, as I said, it looks very specific to Yemen and South Saudi, while an Bedouins/Arabians civ should be mainly based on the nomads of the Hijaz, Nejd and Khalij regions, which feature disctinct looks
Right, hope that the next DLC is going to improve the architecture set distribution because right now itās a complete disaster. AOE3 suffers of the same thing with Mediterranean being used by a lot of civs too.
I agree , and demand Nepalese (if possible) share this architecture skin with them .
I want the Nepalese if only to get a Sherpas unique tech. Not sure what it would do, but itād be cool. Also, Gurkhas, but theyāre a bit late.
UU can always be named to kukri warrior.kukri is the weapons name.
Good idea. I hadnāt considered that.
I had another thought. The Sherpa as the Castle UU, with the Kukri Wielder replacing villagers.
Yes, I know, thatās why I said itās odd. But I was trying to justify it in the context of the civs itās used by.
āNicheā probably is the correct technical term ā unless youāre trying to describe blind arcading?
What will this unit do?
Be a gatherer and a soldier.
Im assuming this unit can only gather not do other actions like mine cut wood etc.or else its just a supremacy villager.
I think the Mediterranean architecture set suits the Romans just fine, considering they (along with the Greeks and Etruscans, of course) are the civilization that practically invented it and spread it throughout southern Europe. Iām not terribly familiar with what architecture from the Caucasus looks like, but I am more open to them having their own set.
Yeah, I donāt know what it will do yet. I think itāll be separate from villagers.
It seems that they will not use the CA architecture.
Thatās beyond AOE2 timeline .
I agree with them. But there should also be a lot more in the area of architecture for Age of Empires 2 DE, than what has been offered so far from the official side.
Based on the ongoing expansions to the game, I have the feeling that Microsoft can make investments in the architecture of the civs, the costs for this are also significantly lower than, if it were to affect the game mechanics themselves.
Iād say that designing architecture sets is far more expensive that developing new game mechanics
