Checking out Amina, she’s questioned by some historians to have been a real person but she could very well have been. She’s present in oral history and depending how you put it, she’s real or not.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter.
You could complain about every expansion pack featuring men prominently but you don’t. Seems pretty biased to me.
There’s a wide variety of women. Some women take the sword and go to battle, some don’t. AOE is reflecting that well.

There is a tendency in the West to highlight women and people of color as much as possible (that is, wherever possible), in almost every industry. If it doesn’t affect the game content much, it’s bearable. The tendency is, of course, ideological/political, nothing else.
